I got a call from them today offering to save me money on my credit card interest. It started with an automated message and then asked me to press 1 talk to a live person. A man started by saying something like "because you have been making your payments on time you are eligible to lower your rate to 6% so can I start by asking you a few questions?" I responded with "Sure, but can I ask you who you are first?" and the call was disconnected
Pretty sure the others on here are correct in assuming that this is a phishing scheme designed to steal identities or at the least credit card numbers.
Caller Id is "C SERVICE". Maybe phishing. But I assume that only people with seriously bad credit card debt would give their credit card number to a stranger on the telephone. These credit cards are probably already charged to their limits, and therefore not very useful
I've gotten several calls with this CID recently, from various telephone numbers. I wish AT&T would let me block all calls with this Caller Id, rather than just twenty numbers.
