Got a call from Joe Trader (as in Trader Joe's stores?) and he did leave a message, stating they had a project they were working on with a country club that I might be interested in and to call 402-289-3575. A little searching on that number and I turned up Benchcraft - a company that does golf course advertising on - you guessed it - benches, as well as course signs etc.
My guess is I'll get a sales pitch if I call back. A little deceptive IMO.
Got the same type of call as Dave-O. Amber left a message stating that a country club is looking for some product that my company sells. After calling them back they asked if we were interested in doing a hole sponsor. They weren't looking for anything that we sold.
Got a call from Jason...message he left said he was "working on a project at a local country club, and you know what? The best thing to do would be to just call him back so we could discuss some details"...no thank you.
FYI...when you go to Benchcraft's website, you receive the following: "On May 2, 2011, Berkline/BenchCraft Holdings, LLC and five (5) affiliated companies (collectively, the "Debtors") filed petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. As part of the Bankruptcy, the Debtors ceased operations and liquidated all of their assets."
Left a message about working on a project at red rock country club. No other details. Not enough info to warrant a return phone call from a random guy in Nebraska.
Got a call from this number saying it was a guy named "Chris", calling on behalf of Bethel Inn Country Club (located in Bethel Maine, about an hour and a half from me). He stated in his message that he would like to speak with me about an advertising opportunity. He requested a return call at 402-289-3575. This is not a Maine number so I looked it up and found this thread.
