Call from Direct Buy claiming I had been chosen to participate in something or other. I asked where she got my phone number, that I am listed in DNC, etc. She claims they work with several 3rd party firms... that I gave my number out... whatever. Not true. I asked which firm, etc.. (knowing I'd get no where). But, she pressed on. So, I kept talking also. She eventually hung up on me.
So, why isn't it illegal to spoof a phone number on caller id? And why isn't it illegal to not identify the source from which they got your phone number? And, it should be illegal to not provide contact information for the originating source of your information. Just my rant...
Called and said they were from some resort and that I was one of the lucky few eligible to win $50,000. I immediately told them I am not interested and please don't call me back.
I got a call from this number saying they are from Highland Resort. I quickly interrupted her by saying "I am not interested", then she replied back "Why not Mr. Handsome?". I hung up because I am not handsome.
