Carrier is Enflick Mobile, which isn't really a carrier, but the developer of an app called TextNow, which offers unlimited anonymous texting and calling. I've had several calls and texts from numbers that trace to this app since I placed a for sale ad on craigslist. They want to "help" you sell your item or con you out of money. It's a con, either way. Go give the developer one-star reviews in the app store and tell them why you're doing it in the details. They might take note.
They called my cell phone with a "free" offer which would only cost me $6.95 to receive. It included $100. Gift card, and two more gift cards for a total of $165. In free gift cards. They just wanted my credit card, debit card or other form of payment requiring an electronic payment and access to your personal information. I asked for an email explaining this program that claimed to have gotten my phone number from a recent online purchase that I had made but didn't know my name or zip code. My cell and land lines are both on the no call list. I hung up. I don't trust unsolicited calls that require payment for free items. Has anyone else received this offer?
I received the call on my cell when I was grocery shopping. They hung up before I could see what the number was. It came in at 3:36 p.m. MDT from Oakland, NE. I don't return calls from numbers that are unfamiliar and I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I always the via a search engine. Thanks a lot to those who posted. I will delete the number now.
