About 50 to 100 jails in the US have this number programmed into their telephone inmate phone system. It is a Generic/Dummy number. If you call it it wont answer. Inmates are not able to receive incoming calls, for obvious reasons, however they are able to call out, so when they call out there needs to be a number associated with that phone/call. The number 402-978-7565 is just a number programmed in inmate phone equipment. It is not a scam number behind some kind of conspiracy. The inmates, among other people, are the ones who scam the general public by asking them to forward calls and saying it is an emergency..etc....Please dont fall for this scam...If you do, you probably should not be allowed to operate a phone or anything that requires thought for that matter. Please use your brain and be smarter than that.
3 times? 4 times? Try 24 times in the last 5 days between missed calls and the times i just hung up. Not only that, this a$$hole is getting vulgar and angry and saying things that are wildly inappropriate. The one i'm getting says 'Marshall County Jail', but seeing all these previous posts, i can see it's not even a real jail. It's ridiculous. Total scams, and the idiots here that are saying they're 'real' calls, are obviously in cahoots.....morons.
Well I have gotten about 10 calls from this number in the last 2 days I cant understand what the guy says and all it said was this is a collect call from an inmate or soemthing then he said something i couldnt understand--If it really is someone calling from jail why is he calling just anyone?? I have never accepted the phone call nor can I.
