this was the first time I received the call. Although my number is supposed to be blocked, I still get several annoying calls during the day. I will not take the time and call back. I appreciate these messages.
Received a call this morning from Credit Card Services, a man named Roberto called from 402-982-0539. He said they could lower my interest rate and all he needed to know is if I owed more than $3500.00 in credit card debt. Then he asks for my credit card number for my Master Card or Visa. I told him that since he's calling me, he should already have this information. Roberto said he is "just doing his job", and a "manager from the company will call me in 30 to 40 minutes." I receive a call within a half an hour from a young man at this number: 850-387-0474 who said he can lower my credit card interest rate. I told him that I'm not having problems paying my credit card. Then he asked me why I closed my credit account? I told him that I didn't close it, but that I would now since he was entirely suspicious. I asked him to remove my phone number from their calling list, and he said he would not. He said, and I quote: "I will call you every day, we will become best friends!" I hung up on him.
I just got a call from this number telling me I could get a lower interst rate on my credit card. They asked for my credit card number and I clearly wasn't going to give them that...I gave them the credit card company and they then told me the first 6 numbers of my card thinking I didn't know that they ALL have those same numbers. I was goofing around online so I decided to keep on the phone as long as possible to see just how far they would go. The first guy tried everything....very persuasive but I still held my ground so he got his supervisor on the line and I went thru the same song and dance with her. Everytime they asked me for my card number I'd answer something like - I don't know what you are talking about, or how can you get a better deal...why can't I just call the company or I'd just say - pardon me? and make them repeat themselves all over again. They were getting very upset and I was laughing so hard about it!! Finally the supervisor gets back on and says 'you can just go F yourself and your high f-ing interest rate' then hung up on me after about 30 minutes!! I did ask where they were calling from and was told Orlando. Interesting accent for FL.
I rec'd call. Just so you know...407 is Orlando's area code..not 402. This is scam. You can file a complaint on the FTC website and on the donotcall.gove website. This will get the company investigated and hopefully stopped.
