this was the first time I received the call. Although my number is supposed to be blocked, I still get several annoying calls during the day. I will not take the time and call back. I appreciate these messages.
'Heather at Account Services'. Standard message: no problem with your account, but it's urgent that you call us about lowering your interest rates. Press '1' to speak to an operator, and '2' to be taken off the list. I pressed '1' and a person with a heavy Indian or Pakistani accent read her script.
The FTC filed suits in December,'09 against two companies that have run this scam, but not this one, apparently. My bet is that the company that makes the calls is really a 'marketing' company, and will make any calls its clients want, as the notes show more than one kind of call from this phone number.
No matter what, these calls are in violation of FTC requirements, and the Do Not Call protocol.
Exactly as Tom posted on 12-22 ; Wanted to have my CC interest rate reduced to 6% , to " keep people from cancelling their accounts due to high interest." Pakistani or Indian accented man, said his name was Joe and he was in Orlando Fl. working for "Visa and Mastercard Financial Advisors". Told him I was leery of phishing scam, so he suggested I call him @ 877-283-8065 x 218 and he'd then give their address. Caller ID showed 402-982-0539 , Liane Evans . Thanks to reading all of these other messgs., I won't be wasting my time to call him back ! Thanks everyone, and Merry Christmas !
I'm WAY ahead of ya! HAHAHAHA! I've got a .wav file from my virus proggie that alerts me if an incoming email is infected, and it's the most HORRIBLE screech imaginable. When jerks like these call I answer and wait until I get a real person on the line, then hold the phone to my computer speakers and hit the 'play' button on my media player with the volume at full blast. A couple times of that and whoever is calling stops. This has worked on at least 4 other constant-callers, will try it on these jerks next. Betcha they quit REAL soon.
