I have received 2 calls from a Ms Clark from the MLA Corporation. I had a payday loan a while back, it went into collections, I paid it off through a legitimate debt collector. I faxed the MLA a copy a letter stating that this debt was paid, and now I receive another call saying that there are a couple of things that don't match up....Glad I found this site. I am blocking this number and calling the agency I first dealt with.

I recieved a call from this number. I did not answer and shortly after my mother called me and told me that an investagator upchurch was calling me and I needed to call before they pressed charges. I called and spoke with "Michelle Upchurch" and asked her the purpose of her call... She gave me the run down and told me I needed to pay Ms Jones in order to get the charges against me dropped and she was not going to send me anything in writing... After I told her she was full of it and if she didn't hurry up and come up with some correct information that the TX attorney general was going to hear about this she hung up on me. After she hung up I called her back... She told me she was going to press harassment charges on ME!
O course, you will get calls from Collectors - If you borrows money , by rights - you need to PAYBACK! IF, it was said in in the contract, you do NOT have to pay back this loan, then you don't!!
i just got contacted by a ms. williams who left me a message stating that i committed theft and that i need to call back asap or they would refer to fort bend county for criminal charges. i looked up the law for texas and it states Under Texas law, a lender cannot pursue criminal charges to collect on a debt. Also, a payday loan lender is limited as to how many times a loan can be renewed. Currently under Texas law, lenders are allowed to renew a payday loan one time each month.
i never even took out a payday loan so i really dont know why i keep getting the calls.
Ms. Williams also called me. about 10000 times. I just disregard the call and ignore. It is a payday loan collections. I was fooled by these kind of people once before and they scammed me out of over $700. DO NOT Send ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE or give than any personal information!!!
