Since the CLID said "WIRELESS CALLER" and the number is local, I picked up and said "hello". I immediately received a recording that started out by saying "Congratulations, you have just won a free cruise". I immediately hung up the phone. 95% of the time I don't answer or pick up the call and hang up immediately. Since I live in the ATL area, and since it looked like a cell phone - all I can say is they got me on that one!
I have a practice of not saying anything when I pick up numbers I don't know, I wait for others to say something. No one said anything...and so I hung up.
(404) 291-3849: Call received on 12/12/2013 at 6:32 pm PST on my cellphone (714-area). I have received NUMEROUS calls from this number in the past with no message ever having been left. Since I already had scheduled my Verizon cellphone to be completely shut off tomorrow, I answered this time. A completely automated 5-minute survey which begins "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU WILL WIN AN ALL EXPENSE PAID CRUISE TO THE BAHAMAS IF YOU WILL AGREE TO TAKE OUT SURVEY ..." I pressed "one" to confirm my willingness to have a "travel agent call me back within 24-hours" so I could claim my "free cruise." Less than one minute later I received another phone call, this time from (954) 228-1997. I answered but did not say anything. There was no response from them, either, and they simply disconnected. Dammit,, I probably missed getting the "free" cruise and won't see the Bahamas this winter. Oh well, the next person who gets my old mobile number will be the beneficiary,,, lol.
