Just a little bit of satisfaction when they have constantly called me and I haven't answered but finally I just had to....Called it back and some foreign guy answered. I asked for name and badge number and he said he left it at home. When I asked how he got into a secure building, he stammered and said that the guards knew him. I said "BS, you're a scammer" and hung up.
Foreign guy claiming to be from IRS, said I owed $4,598.12 from 2010-2017 and if I didn't pay it I would be sued and imprisoned. I pay my taxes every year so I know this is 100% FRAUDULENT!! Had also received a similar-sounding call from another foreigner saying he was with the Dept of Health and Human services and that I was selected to receive $14K "just for being a good American and paying my bills on time and not getting into legal trouble. I knew this was also a scam from minute 1. BEWARE!!! These scam artists are getting more and more creative every day. Just wish I know how they found my contact info...
I was called from the IRS saying I needed to pay immediately to avoid an arrest warrant due to a tax filing issue and would not let me hang up the phone. They wanted me to stay on the phone while I drove somewhere to talk to someone. They said I had to pay $1176 to avoid the immediate issuing of the warrant and that the amount I owed in total was $7760. Once I hung up, I got a fake call from 911 and then 3 more from the local police department. I called back the police and they told me it was a scam and they do not handle federal issues associated with the IRS and to report the scammers directly to the IRS for fraud.
