They have been trying to get in touch with me. It was a recorded voice saying that they were with the IRS and were suing me and that my lawyer and I should call this number back. I knew that it was a scam because the IRS would not call using a recorded voice and would not call threating you with a suit without trying to rectify the problem first. So I looked up the number on Google and it told me that it was a scam.
They just called & hung up but I called back! When he answered, he claimed he was an IRS agent but he couldn't ID me!? Wanted me to ID myself! LOL! (i told him you called me 1st) (as a retired private investigator, please don't identify yourself for a caller!) I was told that I owed over $2k and needed to settle with him over the phone, still NOT knowing who I was! WTM?! Smh. Anyway, I told him I had his #, I would bring my tax attorney & lawyer to the IRS office today! He got upset & hung up!
IRS DOES NOT COLD CALL. THEY USE SNAIL MAIL TO INFORM POTENTIAL CLIENTS OF PENDING ACTION!
