These people are calling everyone I know.  I just called them back to see what the skinny is.  The guy I spoke to told me I was being sued.  I said if I was being sued I should get paperwork - not harrassing phone calls.  He told me to hold so he could look into the case and have it unlocked.  I told him he had 1 minutes.  He said he isn't going to take demand from me.  I hung up on him :)

It all sounds like complete crap!  They can try to scare away but luckily for me I know how the system works :)

i received a call from a lady claiming to serve me papers she said my address and had my license plate number (I think they ran my credit report again). she claim she was from the court but did not leave a name or number for her just left the 404-445-3925 number so when i called guy picks up i was asking him what is this place and name of company so he ask what number was i called from and had my info transferred me to a jason stevens says I was being sued for trying to cash a check and that my bank verified this I told him this is wrong i do not have a checking account so he then proceeded to tell me I received a check and cashed it I ask him from who several times he finally said it was a cash advance loan. These people work for cash advance loans and are trying to charge you large interest for unpaid loans or for loan you didnt finish paying

I just received the same voice mail. The woman went through this spill about sealed documents, sealed affidavits, notice of intent. Read off my home address, the year, make and model of my car along with my tag number. I have no idea who it what this is, at first it scared me, them having my address and tag number and information on my car. I am glad I typed the number in and found all this information as to what this possibly could me. I do not have any cash advances, never have. So I don't know how they got all of my info.

Calling family members, and threatening civil suit, with a bogus suit #.  How do we stop these calls.  I know this was from a cash advance, that was paid well over what was borrowed but not completed for all of the interest.  These loans spiral out of control, and I learned my lesson the hard way.  My father is elderly and these calls are very threatening to him. I am  unsure who to report them to, so they stop.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
