Just received a call from a guy claiming to be a Microsoft Windows Tech saying that my computer IP address was being used by someone to get access into my computer. He said this was a very, very serious matter and that he would help me get it resolved. I asked him for his name and a number I could use to verify his intentions. He gave me this 404-496-5152 number and he informed me that his name was Nick Johnson. He said he was calling from Washington, DC and sounded East Indian. Quite possible that both things were true, but he hung up on me when I said that he doesn't sound like a Nick Johnson. I called the number and it is a non working number now.
Very well known scam & well reported on 800 notes. You will NEVER be cold called by Microsoft. The only person who should ever have access to your computer is you, and a local repair shop. Anyone asking to remotely connect to your computer is a scammer.
