I got the same lisa.roommatenext.com text message from a roommate ad listed on Craigslist in San Francisco, should have known, it was a room in sf with parking spot for $850, but so glad I came across this page because I was tempted to follow the link. Instead of "lisa" mine was customized, kinda, they spelled Rebecca wrong:
"Room still open.pls sign up here http//rabecca.roommatenext.com & lemme know for da next step.Just prove u r not Marketer/Robot."
I got the same message but in email and the name was under Jessica. They were advertising a room In Rohnert Park. When I thought it was legitimate, I replied to the email she sent to tell her the link only takes me to the Roomster sign up page and not her specific page. After I sent it, I received an message from gmail saying delivery to recipient failed permanently. So I replied to their Craigslist account told "Jessica" what happened and was send the same first message. I was gonna try it again then came across the roomatenext.com scam. I had a feeling something was a little off because when I asked icebreaker questions, "she" completely ignored them. But I just thought they were being rude. I'm so glad I found this was a scam.
I am writing to help someone from making the same mistake as me. Too good to be true is correct. I found an Ad on Craigslist renting and apartment in District Heights claim to be house of two lawyers and daughter. They were leasing the basement for only $450. I should've known. Well i got the lovely text telling me to sign up at Lisa.roommatenext.com but the phone number is 347-966-4750. I don't do social media so when i text them advising is this step necessary they never responded making me do my own investigation and i ran into this website. Learn from my almost costly mistake. Im gone take it a step further and tell people stay off social media your opening yourself up to a world of trouble. Its not worth it to let everybody be able to access you personal business. God Bless hope this helps save someone else. Scary how people play on someone innocently looking for a place to stay. The world we live in.
