Called cell first, then home. I was shocked when they asked for me by name,but same scam. Even when I told them I was a tech he still insisted I had a problem.
At least this time he did claim Microsoft didn't say he was from Windows
YES, these are Scammers! I get calls all the time from them on both my Cell phone and Home. You can block the number, but they just Hack another number and continue on. If you acknowledge them, hang up on them or play around with them, they will just call from a different number. You can Block each one, but they just fine a new number. They are Asian based and use various numbers that were once owned/used by a person. If you try blocking your number to call them back, it won't be accepted. Have a whistle and ear plugs handy, and when they call, cover your ears and blow the Hell out of the Whistle! Feed that back into their Ear piece! :)

I have been receiving these type of calls from different numbers in different states. I do not answer them, but I like the idea of giving them something to irritate their ears, like an air horn. That should give them some food for thought.
I got a call...it was someone who could hardly speak english and they claimed to work for microsoft and they said my pc was giving them message errors and he wanted me to get to my pc...well I smelled a rat...so I lied and told him I was on vacation miles away...he wanted to know when I would be back, I said 2 weeks...then he hung up...no bye or kiss my [***]....and it occurred to me, i have never given my phone number to microsoft...ever...so I'm thinking they were doing random calls and trying to hook someone so they could get into your pc and steal your info...he sounded chinese...so beware!!!
