These jokers just called me. Claimed they were calling from some Wellness Center. Then the caller forgot his lines and hung up. They've been at this for a few years now. They must be scamming some suckers or they wouldn't keep trying.
Received call from GADSIP1, When I said Hello, automated voice said Goodbye. I, too, am on state and national do not call lists. I loive in the suburbs of Phila.
Received two calls (mid-morning and early afternoon) at my office from 404-891-5588 and answered with the company name.
Caller asked for the person who handles account receivables. I asked why. Caller was very hesitant and said something about wanting to know if we accepted credit cards (I think, because woman's voice had a heavy foreign accent). I said I was not interested in what she was selling and said good-bye.
Second call, from different woman with another accent and same request. When I asked why, she became quite flustered, mumbled something about just taking information for something or other and I said I am not interested and ended the call.
The sad thing is that these seem to be very poorly trained folks who need any kind of a job and may not realize the kind of gig they got when they got "hired." Probably working on commission, which they never get. Frankly, they sound like poor souls with little education and few skills. While I have nothing but disgust for the con artists running this scam, I can't help but feel sorry for those they take advantage of.
Most likely a voice portal used by many different people. Most likely from over seas. It is illegal as of Dec 2010 not to display the proper name of your company and phone number on the caller id. Call your phone company to complain they can block the number if they choose to. Brighthouse has blocked a number in Florida with FTC approval. Know your congreemen are voting to approve another law to protect these people who call. Please call them and tell them you will not vote for them if they do. NEVER ANSWER a call from an UNKNOWN caller.
