They've started calling me with the Tea Party ID. It is so regular for scammer's to call here, that I usually unplug the phone for the whole day unless I really need it on for a short while. I'm paying $50.00 a month for the privilege of being called by scammers every day all day. I've decided that I'm going to start saying the freakiest and scariest things I can think of to these agents of Satan just for some payback.
Scammers forge caller IDs. There is a local business in my area that has been victimized by this practice.
Go to donotcall.gov and report the number and let them resolve it. Legit businesses victimized by this have a fight on their hands in trying to get phone company assistance, at least the small phone companies like FairPoint.
If you bundle your internet and phone you should be able to manage a blocked call list. There is also a means to block calls that block their ID or have it as anonymous. I forget what it is, but your phone company should be able to provide it (it is something like dial #77 to block).
This number called me today as Out of Area for the ID, and I reported it and blocked it.
I probably get two calls a day from this number. It is NOT Tea Party related and anyone who believes it is a narrow-minded bigot. I AM the Tea Party and there is no reason that they would be calling me and then hanging up. Duh! Quit your whining. Put some pants on, get out of your parents' basement and file a complaint. Geez.
Researched this thoroughly. They ate pretending to be tea party.
As far as I can tell it seems to be related to Soros
Organization. Don't understand why a man I admire
would let this happen.
