Re- Pissed Off Gun Owner and Tom
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a collection agency (404-891-6935) using the telemarketing bit (Worldwide Commerce Associates) as a ploy to try to obtain information about you, the owner of the phone number. That way they can know for sure if they've found their victim, er, target.
Ever since I moved close to the border last year and picked up this new land line number I've been receiving weird calls from all over the U.S. The internet has been very helpful in identifying all the scammers and sales campaigns. (Apparently TD is on a bender right now.)
Thanks to all for the added info.
Caller ID just said Long Distance. Rang twice. I picked it up, said "hello" once and there was no reply so I hung up.
I assume it was a telemarketer -- hopefully it was just a misdialled number. My ring tone came up as long distance, not "unknown". This number appears to originate in Atlanta.
Scam number to redeem two WalMart $25 gift cards. Not sure where they got my number but I will not waste the time. You you are going to try to scam me at least make is a store that I like!!
