Thank God for this website! I got a called from this number saying the IRS was suing me, and it scared me! Thankfully I looked up the number on the internet before returning their call, I feel a lot better now knowing that others have established it's a scam. Thank you to everyone who has contributed here!
Received a call this morning from this number saying I owed $3600 to the IRS. As a full time student who works part time, I was freaking out!! I called immediately to get it straightened out and my mom was the one who calmed me down and helped me come to my senses. Nice try scammers! I also informed all of my friends and such of this so that they are aware of this horrible scam! I hope these comments are most helpful to others. Best of luck to you all and be careful!

If you feel you SSN has been compromised, in addition to putting a fraud alert at the 3 credit bureaus, you may want to notify the IRS. Here is the link, fill out the proper form (probably 14039):
