They called to find out how my dell computer was running. They said they can diagnose the problem for free. He dialed into my computer and looked at my temp files. I was told I have a virus and he could fix it for $129.99. What?!!!! There is no way I am going to give a stranger that kind of money to fix my computer. He said he could talk to his supervisor about adjusting the price. Again, no way and no thank you!
If you allowed them access to your computer, then you had best change any and all passwords ASAP! Anything info you had on your computer has been compromised. Run your anti virus program and also get maleware bytes and run it.
You should never ever give access to your computer to anyone who cold calls you! The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
