I got the same message from a courtney king as well with a mean voice mail giving me a case number as well that started with 2015 when I called back to talk to a courtney king a woman came on with the same voice that the courtney king left me, but stated her name was Meagan saying I owed this money, but was making no sense. When I said I fell for this two years ago and took care of this matter twice already, she said well I needed to contact the collection agency because they probably scammed me. When I said that, it was never a collection agency that contacted me it was people like her saying they were investigators. She just went on about how she is on the criminal side of this matter and she was going to the court at 6pm, when I know that courts aren't open that late. Then saying the judge would sign off on it on Saturday morning. Then telling me to call her back Friday night and leave a message with a reference number. Then also stated something that I can go to any bank of America and take care of this matter. That I needed to pay at least 350. It was making no sense to me at all. Go to bank of America and tell them exactly what with no documentations. I am sorry but Bank of America has nothing to do with this. You don't go to the bank to pay some payday loan debt. Needless to say this Megan lady that origionally said she was Courtney KIng was rude and not making any sense. She was threatning me with all kinds of things. Saying I will be in custody in seven to 10 days. I did call back that night and left a message that I needed her to email me a document stating what company this is from and an invoice of what I owe. So I am waiting for her to send me that information to my email before I do anything, Because like I said I got scammed twice already and they were suppose to mail me a receipt and they never did.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
Thank you for that advice. Because I blocked the number yesterday but she still managed to call me today and leave a voice mail saying I needed to call her back and today was my last day to lay in full and she understands I need documentation of the debt. But I needed to call her back. I am not calling her back because it's wrong. She told me on Friday that my file has been in her office since 2012 but yet you are calling me now. When I alrwady took care of this or fell for it two years ago. I see on other peoples post that she claimed to be from one office and then said she was from another. I will not bbe calling back because I did not take out any loan in 2012. I will be reporting her today because she has not sent me documents in the mail about this. And if you had my file since 2012 how come I have never received anything in the mail about it. When I asked on Friday for the company name she didn't say anything to me. She didn't tell me any information. She just kept threatening me and telling me I need to hire a criminal lawyer for when that warrant comes to me. Saying that she would send my file to the state attorney where I live and they would issue me a warrant.
Got a call today from 773-257-9296 from an Ashley Cruz. She called my work and my cell phone. Then when she only got voicemail she proceeded to call back at work and spoke with the receptionist. Telling her that I needed to call back by noon regarding a Fraud Legal Matter or further action was going to be taken. I made the mistake of calling and was transferred to a Thomas J. Curran or so he says. He had the phone to his face while telling someone he was getting ready to go to court to get the judge to sign off on several papers to file charges. He then preceded to talk to me to tell me that I owed 5 different payday loans, but he couldn't provide me proof. He said that by the time it got to him that he was just the person to file the cases, but yet he wanted me to give him 3700.00. I told him that I had already paid the payday loan from someone like him. I told him I couldn't pay it and then he decided he could try a settlement and I said I couldn't pay it. Then he said he'd file for a "continuance" and for me to make some calls and call him back in a couple of hours on his direct line at 404-937-3528. He said if I didn't pay that it would go to court and felony charges would be filed for intent of fraud and I might be put on probation and have fees for that along with someone showing up at my place of employment and I'd have a felony on my record forever. I did take out a couple of payday loans in 2010, but I've paid them back and I've gotten calls like this every few months. I usually don't answer, but when they talked to another person, I didn't have a choice.
