These people have called me 3 times in the last 24 hours. They claim to be calling to renew our Atlantic Monthly subscription and want us to pay with credit care online. First of all, never give out your cc over the phone when someone calls you. Secondly, our subscription doesn't run out for another year and a half. They gave me several different numbers, one of which was a career institute and the number on the caller ID is a nonworking number. The other 2 times, there was no number on the caller ID> This is a scam. I have reported it to the FCC and Atlantic Monthly. I am now getting 2-3 calls per day of this nature from all sorts of telemarketers, scams, etc. It is out of control. If you are having the same issue, I suggest you keep a log and call your senator and make a formal complaint. It is time consuming, but his is an invasion of privacy and harassment as if we don't already have enough to worry about without these bozos.
Received the same call using "collector aggressiveness". Told me I owed Atlantc Magazine, which I subscribed to using reward miles. Told me I needed to review the small print of the "contract"
Spoke to Atlantic magazine and they say to ignore such calls as they do not represent the magazine.
