Got a generic computer call "to settle out of court" some make believe account with "a financial institution" from "Madison and Associates". Tried to hit the remove me from the list, but that triggered a live GA cell phone call. Told him this is a do not call list number. He tried to get personal information from me, so I said "Good Bye" and hung up.
Also get these calls, this # just now with recorded message saying I was going to be prosecuted for money owed to a financial institution, hit 1 to settle out of court. I just hang up on them any more or if a live person, tell them this conversation is being recorded, as my attorney advised me to do. Usually gets rid of 'em for a month or two. I believe it was from providing personal info for online payday loans, never again!
Recorded message and to hit 1 so I did. Tells me I have been subpoenaed about a payday loan. Couldn't ams wouldn't provide info. Gave dates of when I was not even in the state. Have no debts outstanding then threatened to subpoena my friends whom are also in a different state. He said I would be in court over this. When questioned why he wouldn't send info he started saying bogus laws. He had my new number and social and claims I owe a payday loan from 2010??????? These people have tried scamming before!!!'
