Person by the name of Agent Callaway calling relatives and my work stating I have defaulted on Government Loans. Also they are investigating me ref to writing bad checks. The caller is also stating that she is with the FBI. When I call the number back I get a recording ML & Associates Litigation. possible Atlanta Ga. area number. The caller sounds like a black Jamican female. I called the Atlanta FBI field office they advised they have no agent Callaway in that office. Another scam. There is no one that will help with this issue.
I received the same call at work. They are pay day loan debt collectors that use illegal practices such as threatening you with arrest, fraud, etc just to get you to pay. It is also illegal to keep calling you (especially at work), along with giving personal information out to anybody else, but yourself. Report them to FTC & State Attorney's Office. Even if you still owe, it is harassment. I have done a lot of research on this. If the company you owe the money to wants to collect, they can sue you on a civil matter if they decide the $ is worth it, but you cannot be arrested. I hope this helps.
