This is happening to me right now. Same thing. Called me work and cell phone and also couldn't give me the name of the company who I supposedly owe this money. Then when I ask to speak to head attorney she said why would I want to talk to her since she wouldn't say anything different from first person . Told me I was going to be arrested and spend 5 days in jail and threaten me. They told me different dates. Not sure what to do about this Help.
Same thing just happened to me. They called my cell & my work #, claiming I was being sued as well & wanted my attorneys name. Telling me I has an unpaid loan I have never received. This has happen to me twice in the two months. They are scammers!
This number called my previous place of employment. I called the number and they are stating that I am going to get arrested tomorrow because I am getting sued. This person couldn't give me any information about the situation. If this person is a lawyer with the name Ryan Miller, then why could he give me the information I requested. This isn't the first time this has happened to me.
This guy named Danny Morison called me this morning and said I will be arrested Wensday if i dont pay a cancelation fee of 195 dollars for some loan that I never recieved I said I wanted to see documents he said they would be provided after I pay
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]
In other words, they must provide the documentation BEFORE you pay.
Got 2 calls at work from 405-233-4126 and they left me two messages that it was important that my "legal - criminal" lawyer needed to call them back right away. I called them and spoke to a person with an accent who proceeded to tell me I had some pay day loan but could not tell me from whom and that I was going to jail for fraud. He did have my email informatin and work phone number but could have gotten this from the web when I did apply for a pay day loan but was turned down.
I pay what I owe and will not be harrassed into paying a bill that they will not provide proof for or give me the company name. I thought to be sued the had to provide you with a legal court document. He is threatening to show up at my work and home.
