I have had several of these phone calls. This morning it was from a slightly different last four digits than in the phone number than previous calls. Today the number was 405-437-2578 FAV. It is our local area code but it says out of the area.
FAV is some sort of American Veteran scam. They will call dozens of times in a day and don't honor opt-out. Though why should I have to opt out unless they are scammers. (hint: they are)
A friend answered a call from FAV at 405.437.2591. This is the same person/'company' at 405.437.2578 that foned twice yesterday. The guy foning asked for me by name, my friend told the guy I was unavailable and was told he would fone back and no message. I am disabled and currently unable to talk very well. This is Harrassment and Disturbing the Peace. These people need to Cease and Desist before complaints are filed with BBB and FCC.
FAV calls my home that I share with my elderly parents 5-6 times a day. I usually don't anwser these calls but they have been calling for at least a week. So I anwsered it and askedwhy are they harassing a veteran for donation to a so-call veterans charity. I thought it was a real person at first, but it is not. It is the next generation robot caller. It uses key word detection. The computer looks for a key word and plays the corresponding response. The is the lowest scumbaggery I have ever seen.
Sorry, Anon, but that is precisely what you are going to have to do. Almost as if they are daring you to make a complaint. Yes, they disturb peace with their harassing calls, but they are quite proud of that fact--case in point, they savor the opportunity to call you during evening dinner hour. Why? Just to annoy you to point that you will agree to give them huge amounts of money to leave you alone. Unfortunately by placating them with a "donation" you literally buy a top spot on their list for future calls.
Which all leads to the point of calling you numerous times--they do so because they are betting you will not go to the effort to make a formal complaint on FCC website, Better Business Bureau or Oklahoma Attorney General's website. All websites ask for specific details, have several pages of info for you to fill out plus want lots of self identifying information. In other words, not easy to fill out, takes time out of your schedule so most people don't complain.
If you are a reader of 800notes entries, you might see people suggesting call blockers. Call blockers actually do a great service for you. There are even call blocking programs that are capable of blocking thousands of different calls either by phone number OR by whatever CNAM you enter, in this case, FAV. Granted you have purchase call blocking equipment/programs but those are one time costs to guarantee your peace of mind as well as peace from phone ringing telemarketers.
