Just got a voicemail message from a robot from 405-673-5800 and it said that a complaint was filed against me, and that I would be served at my job or residence unless I call them back and give a reference number they stated. At the end of call it says: "You have been notified"...so I goggled the number and found all these complaints. I called them back and a guy answers the phone, without stating what company it is, so I tell him you just called me and left a robotic message saying your going to serve me? He obviously saw the number I called in from and had my last name.....I asked who are you? You would not say. I told him that they have complaints all over the internet...he said well, that happens when debt collectors call...I told him it is illegal for robot to call my cell...he asked for my name again and I would not give,....he would not tell me the company still....he then hung up on me....Someone needs to address these guys and shut them down....
I received a call from these people today 3 June 15 @ 4:15 pm. A female voice was informing me she had been retained in a legal matter against me and I HAD to call back and reference file # JVB30894 and she ended with I have been notified.
I attempted to talk to her (I could hear voices in the background); but, no such luck.
I do not know who these people are; but, I have no debt - I do not even have a mortgage.
These people do not know what they are doing - they are simply harassing people.
Have gotten this call from this number numberous times. After the first one I blocked it. Looked a little further into this and this is what I have found.
Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 405-673-5800 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint fight back against unethical telemarketers.
This number is calling my phone 3-4 times a day. I don't answer and the voicemail is a robot claiming there are charges filed against me (in my previous name that has not been used in over 4 years) and for me to return the call (it provides some odd reference number which is different on each voicemail). I finally called the number back and the woman who answered the phone was very rude and asked me to verify information. When I refused she got loud. I told the number specifically NOT to call my number again!
This is a scam to get personal information from people.
It's a scam. I heard the same background noise when I called today. I asked what company this was and what they wanted. I refused to provide any personal information until she told me who they were... which she would not provide the information. The woman I spoke with then raised her voice when I said not to call my number again.
