This is an OK law firm that is a bottom feeder, as known in the industry. Basically they buy old debts, new debts-you name it. THen they shotgun out their letters and calls to intinidate you into paying. If all else fails, they will file a SUmmons to Appear - which you get right before or shortly after the court date. The judge or clerk files a default judgment since you didn't show up, and then they let you know that. The sad thing is, they do this on uncollectable debt, debts bought from non-litigation states, and debts that are out of statue for collecting. The suck and have no respect. Currently they are battling nearly 200+ claims AGAINST them!! SO...there you ahve it.
They would not even tell me where the debt is from. I got some info from who they bought debt from. Can't wait for the chance to go to court over this since it's from a phone calling card that I never owned and to top that off the debt is from when i was 16! Ya it kinda took me by surprise but not as much as company calling me trying to sue me when I was only 12, for camera equipment that was bought when I was not even born! Explain that one! I've been fighting indenty theft since before I was BORN!
They are trying to force us to pay for a debt, that my husband never co-signed for. He co-signed for someone's first Loan with Furniture Factory Outlet. That debt was paid in full. Then the guy went down and purchased more stuff and furniture factory outlet or the guy submitted my husbands name as co-signer again and we never signed anything and didnt know anything about it.
I got aserved from the court in Pittsburg co. , ok and this Love, Beal & Nixon. Before thinking about it, I responded to the court in writing that I owed the debt. If they are such a bad company, why does the court allow them to file on anyone? Now I wonder what will happen.
This is like the 20th time I've gotten a call from this phone number of (405) 720-0466. This is on a Sunday, I got two of them from them yesterday, no one ever answers, I try calling back, and get a fax tone. What can be done ?
They are hardline debt collectors who will even take you to court for a summary judgement and a discovery in court, assessing all your assets, could follow. If you owe the debt, they can even attach your house if they can't squeeze any money out of you any other way. I plan to file bankruptcy and then they will lose every dime they have spent attempting to take me to the cleaners. Told them that was going to happen. Just biding my time until I am ready to deal with them. But do remember, my attorney told me they are good at attaching your home so be certain you check that out if you plan to file bankruptcy and have it removed at that time. After that, it is too late and they have you in a noose yet again. They will still have a claim on your home, making it impossible to sell until the debt is satisfied or their claim is removed. I offered them a settlement amount and they won't deal...want the full amount, including all their trumped up charges. They can go fly a kite!
