you can help by calling the FCC as described in the post to which I am replying. It takes some time to navigate through the appropriate menu for unwanted telephone calls and faxes, but once you get to that menu option, select the number "0" to report the complaint. I had to listen to the FCC recording several times to understand that part.
Also, it seems the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is more likely to process your complaint as their jurisdiction is more complete in this case. In order to report the complaint to the FTC, call
This number is from some company in Bozeman, MT and apparently they want to reduce the interest rate on credit cards you may have. However, this must be a scam since they keep calling me and I do not have ANY credit cards. I don't know how to get off the call list, either, because when I call them back and press 1 to get off the list, it doesn't work (I'm still getting calls weeks later). If I talk to an agent, they hang up on me when I tell them I have no credit cards.
Same here. Don't answer unknown calls, especially on my cell phone, and never use my cell phone for business-type calls. So I'm also wondering how they got my cell #.
I have received several calls by this number. The most recent an hour ago. Apparently they use disposable phones, predictive dialers, and various different rotating phone numbers to mass call people. This makes it extremely difficult to track who is calling.
While listening to the robo-call, if you "press one," you will be connected to "card services," who will ask if you are looking to "lower your interest rates." It is a SCAM. They will proceed to ask for your credit card numbers and other personal information. If you ask to be placed on their "do-not-call" list, they will hang up on you because they are not a legitimate business. They are low-life degenerate criminals. Do not talk to them.
If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you can download an app called iBlacklist. This is what I did. Every time they call from a different number, you can quickly add the number to the "blacklist." The next time they call you from any of their numbers, they will hear a busy signal or dead space. And the best part, is that you will not hear the phone ring.
Thank the lord for music ringtones. I was looking for something to eat when I hear The Beer Song go off on my phone, I thought nothing of it, at which point my phone tells me I have a missed call. I called it back & when I got the robot, I went on google ASAP. Why would they waste time calling a 15 year old who doesn't even have a job, much less a working credit card?
