Just got a call from this number~ wanting to lower my credit card rates. I don't have the option to forward for free! So I started a contact named JUNK~ these scams call me once~ then I add them as another number to the JUNK contact~ which is programmed to go directly to voice mail, so it only reaches me as a missed call. I agree that it seems Do Not Call doesn't seem to work anymore~
I am also on the NO CALL list. Does no good. I now always press whatever number to speak to a rep. Once engaged with a human being, I try to sound interested for as long as possible (thus wasting their time), until I finally tire and tell them to go F*** themselves. Makes me feel a bit better.
Called today at 10:04am. Our caller ID read "Procedures," but it was Card Services, that infamous scam that claims to lower interest rates. First there was a recording from "Heather from Card Services." Pressed 1 to speak to a representative (pressing 3 never stops the calls, anyway) & a young man came on with a voice so soft I couldn't hear him say his name. Told him that not only have we pressed 3 before to discontinue, we've been on the Do Not Call list for several years. Without apologizing, he hung up on me. Filed a complaint on donotcall.gov.
Did some research. Apparently this "Heather from Customer Services" recording is used by an outfit in San Diego:
