Got a call a few minutes ago. Our neighbors are in the middle of a messy divorce and had their phone disconnected. As a result, we keep getting calls from debt collectors asking if we know our neighbor's new number. Given that, we avoid any call that isn't family, friends or work. I don't know if this was a call about the neighbors or not, but I'm not picking it up to find out. I'm ready to drop my phone number completely. Telling them that I'm sick of their calls and not to call me about the neighbors anymore isn't working. I think it's time to get the Panasonic call with call-blocking function.
Caller ID said Credit Services and they didn't leave a message. Because my number is listed first initial last name in the phone book, have a lot of these bottom feeders calling asking for someone else. Doesn't matter if I don't even know who that someone else is, they want as many people as possible to pay for this debt.
My husband answeredd the call which came in on our business fax line, which is also listed on the Do Not Call List. I don't know what kind of call it was other than the fact my husband identified it as a "come-on," and hunb up. I did a star 57 trace of the call after I identifed the caller's number via *69.
I have received several calls from these idiots. Doesn't matter what I say or do, they still keep calling. Don't know how to get them to stop. Apparently putting your phone # on the Do Not Call list is worthless and from what I am reading on these posts, reporting them to any government agency is a waste of time, too. So, when I have a few extra minutes, I answer the call and have some fun with them....when they ask for a credit card #, I throw out a couple of bogus #'s followed by letters that spell nasty phrases! It really makes my day! LOL
