Got this call a few minutes ago with a recording asking if I wanted info about lower interest rates. I hung up. I called Verizon and they said call the FCC 877-382-4357. FCC was very nice and pretty much said that the solution was not to answer since whoever they are would not cooperate with the do not call list. We get similsr calls from an 062 area code number.
I received a call a few days ago, and when I answered it I heard a recorded message that told me they were "Cardmember Services". It then told me that my time was running out for my eligibility to sign up for a 6% interest rate on my credit card, and then it said to press some # if was interested. I hung up. I have had a 6% interest rate on my Amazon.com credit card that was set up last Oct by Chase so they could deduct the credit payments out of my checking account. Last week I cancelled the remaining payments because I was going to pay the card off. Therefore I think this generated this call. I received calls from this number in the past, but I never answered them.
More Credit Card scammers who want to 'lower my interest rate'. The only thing they are interested in is a Credit Card number. Don't give it to them or your account will be maxxed out in no time! Computer generated, these calls come in several times a week. The national 'Do Not Call Registry' should be the "Do Not Care Registry' for all the good it does.
