Wanted to reduce my credit card rates. Said they were a major company which handles multiple credit cards and are soliciting customer inter
rest in lower rates.Wouldn't say which "Major Cards" they represented.Told them I didn't need their services but I look forward to sharing with Connecticut Consumer Services And Attorney General office as they would be quite interested in all services they render.
Got a call Feb. 25 from name unidentified firm from "Julie" that my time was almost running out to change the interest rate. Sure thankful for Google!!!
I filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) 1-877-FTC-HELP.
They confirmed it is a credit-card scam. The scammers call from telephone number 321-397-2036, and manage to send to your caller ID the fake number 407-000-1234. There is no point in calling them to take your number off their list, or register with the national no-call registry: the scammers are acting outside the law already and do not care.
However, if the FTC receives enough complaints there are more chances that it will be able to legally pursue this organization.
