I saved an email from a long time ago about what to do with with these automated calls. Don't know if it really works but I guess it is worth a try.
What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!
Sept 19, call from 407-111-1111. They refused to ID themselves. A Mary said I was rude, I said she was a theif and to drop my number from her scam. The phone company should cut off their service.
Did not answer call but we get calls like this (offering the too-good-to-be-true free vacation) all the time - at least three per week. All these calls come from the USA and we can't seem to get rid of them no matter what. They don't even check to see what area codes they can sell into, which is just plain ignorant. Even having an unlisted number doesn't help. I call this TELEPHONE TERRORISM and that the FCC permits it to go on means that America is GUILTY of it. No wonder Americans have become so loathed abroad. Hey maybe someone should invade the USA and do to their telephone service what they've done to Iraq's. Then we might get some bloody peace and quiet for a change.
Hi, I'm in the UK and even got one of your US spam calls here! Same as above - recorded message offering holiday in Florida, just press 9 for more details.
Phone cut out when I didnt press the button.
I just picked up a voicemail from this number. It was an automated message that started in the middle of a sentence. Obviously trying to get people to call back for more details.
