I just got a call from this outfit and reported it to the Do Not Call registry. I've been getting calls like this every week or two for the past several months, but until now the number has always had a "44" plus a variation of the number this latest call came from. 44 is the international dialing code for the UK. The one time I did answer such a call and got a person on the line, I kept asking until the person told me a company name. She claimed it was "Financial Services" and when I asked where that was located, she said "Atlanta, Georgia." There is no such company in Atlanta. After that call, I looked back through my cell phone's list of calls and found a total of eight calls from 44-207 or 44-208 phone numbers. I reported all of them to the DNC registry.
I got this call 11 minutes ago and kept"James" on the phone long enough to look it up on the internet. His company was called United Aid and they wanted to do "a free analysis to see if I qualified for lower rates on my cards". I said "sure" just give me your Ph number and I'll call you back - then they got scared. I could hear whispering in the background and for some reason"James" fumbled around and could not give me the number because he would not get "credit" for the transaction. So I said just give me the number to the corporate office because I would love to call back and get more info on your company. He kept fumbling and whispering so I asked for a manager but "they are all in a meeting right now" All he could manage to give me was 1-800 and nothing more. After going back and forth for a while, he said ma'am I can see you are not taking our help seriously and he ended the call! Amazing these scams they try to run and then get mad at you for not getting scammed!!!
Same thing, got a call in New Mexico. First I pressed 3 to discontinue further notices... and immediately got the same call again. Next I talked to the "Financial Services" operator, she hung up when I asked for her number. I reported it to the FCC.
Just received a call from this number on my government cellphone. Heather offered to lower my credit card rates. I've received one other call from them before about my auto warranty and just hung up.
This time I pressed one and told the caller this was a government line and they weren't supposed to call it; they hung up immediately.
