He called and said that I need the security update of my house was over 3 years old... that he would come into the house and do a security upgrade survey..... he asked if my security system was over 3 years old and I said yes..... 4 year old pitbull and a five-year-old hybrid wolf and if you want to come in the house pass them there was a nine millimeter behind them.... he hung up very quickly

I call that security system Bark -N- Bites backed up by Remington,Browning and Winchester.  I have one of these excellent systems also! :)

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

I was called numerous times when i answered it was a recording for home security. When i direct called them it was car insurance. It goes directly to a menu if you press 2 it's supposed to take you permanently off their list.

Robo call from a company regarding vehicle warranties. Scam.

What year are you living in? Every smartphone can block calls, and nobody uses home phones anymore.
