Yes they never give up. They call my cell phone every day even after I showed them the debt was paid. Professional Collection Systems... Ugggghhh!

Same as above, these people never give up do they ugg! I've had calls at all hours, day and night. I had them calling me a few times up to 9 pm even! Turns out you can deal with this in a few ways:

If you tell them that when you are ready to pay the bill YOU will contact THEM to do so, legally agnecies are not allowed to bother you for the money again if you tell them to stop calling. If they do call back then make sure you jot down the name of the person who called, day, time, and if you have an call waiting/other way of tracking calls such as vonage then also make a print out of the call info. Also when possible you should reply to any paper bills that come to you and tell them the above, legally they should not be mailing you any more bills after that. If they do then make sure to keep them even years down the road as proof of their contacting you again.

The only reason collectors call you back after you do the above is because the company has turned your account(s) over to a different agency. Make sure you always know the exact name/address/phone of the original company so you'll know if it's a change over. If this happens simply do the above and the 2nd company should not be calling you back (unless it goes to a 3rd or more agency which also happens frequently).

Secondly, it is illegal for any collection company to call you outside "business hours". This one I'm not 100% sure though what "hours" constitues, but according to my lawyer if you life in Florida and they are in Cali, they cannot call you before 9 am or after 5 pm EST time since that is "business hours" for Florida. If they do then again, log the call in any way you can and if it becomes a persistant annoyance then seek the help of an attorney.

Even though we did incur the bills these people are trying to collect on, that doesn't mean we don't have rights too! Protect your rights at all times by getting on the "do not call" list for both your home and cell phone. Do not let yourself be bullied/threated by these people or give in to their demands. Keep up on the latest laws regarding consumer rights, check the BBB for info on the companies gunning for you, and don't be afraid to contact a lawyer, even if it's just for questions and advice. Most lawyers have free in person and/or phone consulations these days so you may not even have to leave home to get help.

Bottom line: Don't take their sleezy, slimeball tactics. Take back the valuable time wasted when these people call by being the preditor, not the prey! Good luck!

I also get occasional calls from collections agencies for a prior user of this phone number.  I have a company issued blackberry and I get calls from collections for a women who must have had this number.  I also get non-collection calls looking for a doctor who also must have had this number.  Usually after I explain its a new number to me, they stop calling but we'll have to wait and see this time.

If you receive a collections call from this number, you may want to connect with someone inside the company to let them know you do not appreciate the call. While not advocating filling up the persons voice and e mail with garbage, here is the contact information:

You are very foolish to take that view and to post it on here to "encourage" others to do the same is very irresponsible.

If you care about your credit you will be well advised to contact collection agencies.  They have been employed by the hospital and you had a service and you need to pay for it, if you had no intention in the first place to settle your bills then stay away from the hospital!

And if you think being in Mexico saves you, eventually you'll learn that being in another country won't save you.
