The number they call from is spoofed and cannot be called back!
To file complaints for violators of the National Do Not Call Registry:
(1) If you aren't already on the National Do Not Call Registry, register! http://www.donotcall.gov

*Your phone number has to have been in the registry for at least 31 days to file online*

(9) Send a letter to the telemarketer (if you can find a valid address) via USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt to cease calling you.
(10) Post complaints in forums such as these used to identify the callers, especially those who are ignoring the FDCPA or National Do Not Call Registry, to assist others in researching issues similar to yours!
By all means, please share this information! They (Collection Agencies/Telemarketers/Scammers) rely on consumers not being knowledgeable and enforcing their rights, so don't fall prey! General information about telemarketing fraud:
It is estimated telemarketing fraud costs consumers in excess of forty billion dollars each year. It can take many forms: phony prize promotions, credit repair scams, business opportunity and get rich quick schemes, and investment fraud. Also watch out for “sound-alike” charitable solicitations. Older Coloradans are often the ones victimized by telemarketers trying to take advantage of failing health or desperate financial concerns. Also check out the FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule, which can be accessed on the FTC’s website at www.ftc.gov.
Protect yourself from telemarketing fraud. Consumers can protect themselves from telemarketing fraud by:
* Be suspicious of anyone calling your home or office promising prizes and awards if you agree to participate in their promotion. Most often, those prizes don’t exist.
* Never give your credit card or bank account number to a stranger calling you on the telephone.
* Never agree to purchase products sight unseen.
* Don’t be pressured into participating by claims that “today is the last day of promotion,” or “you must act now or you will lose out.” This is usually just a ploy to get you to buy.
Any commercial telephone seller must allow a purchaser to cancel within three days after the purchaser's receipt of the goods, services or property. You must deliver or send written notice and return any goods.
I had the time so I decided to wte some of their time. Gave the guy info then was passed onto the closer. He told the plan details, then wanted a credit card number for the down pmt. When I explaind that I was not about to give out my credit card number to a company that violated the national do not call list he cussed me out.
I figure why not waste some ot their time when I'm in the mood. Also the caller Id showing i a disconnected number
annoying call from sales people wanting me to extend the warranty on my car. They gave been told not to call back, however, they do... 10-15 times a day. And when I call the number back, I get a recording that the number has been dosconnected.
No message left. We have been getting calls from "Zombie" debt collectors over a year now. We have reported them all to the AG in our state. When one is reported, another seems to buy out the old debt that has run out the statute of limitations. In our case, the debt is someone who lived at our home over 10 years ago and now lives in Florida. This number is probably someone who bought out that same old debt information. Our country needs a prison to house all of these so-called people/monsters! Thank God for caller ID!
