Robo call from "Fl H2o Coalition" today. As soon as I knew it was a robot I pressed 1 and got a live person. The problem was that she wasn't connected to the telemarketer! They were in the office of Fla State Senate President Andy Gardner's office! Apparently, The H20 Coalition is pushing some political agenda ( I don't know what it is and frankly I don't CARE! I HATE telemarketers! And that includes political ones!). So H20 Coalition is pushing some agenda and when you try to complain and get off their call list, instead of answering their own phones, they switch you to Gardner's office hoping that you will pressure him to do their bidding! A new low, even for telemarketing swine! The H20 Coalition has a website but it never does get around to saying what they want! It shows a Tallahassee address, a sure sign that these guys are actually paid political lobbyists! It also list a telephone number (250-24-7173) but when I tried to call it the phone company said that it was not in operation. Another sure sign that [***]-sucking political lobbyists are behind this entire scam!
This call may be related to 407-830-1565, where Caller Id shows "Utilities" or "Florida Call". Look it up on 800Notes and you'll see some claiming it's the old "send us a pepaid card or else your power will be shut off" scam. I did not answer the 2 calls from that number and now they're trying a new spoofed number and Caller Id from same Altamonte Springs area. They often use legit business phone numbers because they know many look up the phone number. They're hoping if people think it's legit business they'll answer next time they call. The scammers will also ask for a person by name as a further attempt to lure you in. Criminals can buy lists with our names and phone numbers just like any other entity. They can spoof any phone number and caller Id. So be smart and look up odd numbers and don't be fooled by caller Id. Thanks yo all who post warnings on the Internet and thanks to admins of this Website.
