This number had called several times over the last month but hadn't left messages. I was a little curious about when I found out I "Had won a 12 day vacation to Orlando Florida" and I pressed 9, as the phone message directed (I was mostly curious about how scam artists work their magic). Immediately a person was telling me that I had won a vacation package and I was directed to a semi-legitimate looking website "www.specialttravel.com". He showed me the exact vacation package I would receive. Meanwhile, while "Jeff" was blabbing about all that I had won, I googled the phone number and his company name "Special-T-Travel" and found that it was, as I had thought, a scam. So I then directed him to a website outlining the company and therefore him, as a scam, and then I hung up.
Had received several calls from this number at all hours of the day and night over the last few weeks. I finally answered to hear a recording tell me I had just won a vacation package to Orlando Florida, I just had to push 9. I pushed 9, and was immediately directed to a person detailing the package I had just won. He directed me to a website "www.specialttravel.com" which was semi-legitimate looking. This website further outlined the details of the trip I had "won". While the man was talking to me about my winnings, I googled the company name, Special-T-Travel" and found it to be a scam. I directed the man on the phone to the website where I had uncovered his fraud, and then hung up.
They called while I was online (dial-up) so I let it go to the call manager voice mail. There was no message, but a man's voice started to say Hello and then it hung up. I've been getting a lot of vacation scams lately...many different numbers...so I'm glad I didn't answer.
I got the call, I live in Thunder Bay, Scam, you pick up they don't say anything. I don't care if you win a trip its all scam and pain in the butt telemarketers...
