One reason that you may have received no caller name (CNAM) with your call is that there are a number of independent database operators that provide this information. Your local phone company subscribes to one of these, or at least they probably do (some don't). If you pay for caller ID name service, your phone company will look up the number it receives as the calling number ID (CID) and send the name it finds to your phone, which may or may not receive it properly.
For all this to work, the calling party's phone company has to offer a service to report the CNAM of their customer in association with the CID. Not all do, and some charge a fee for this service. Assuming that their customer provides a CNAM for the database at all and their phone service reports this CNAM, they have to report it to the database that YOUR phone company uses for you to see it. Otherwise, you might see a blank CNAM, or "out of area," or "unknown caller," or "VITELITY, INC" (i.e., the name of the company supplying the outgoing line) or the last person who was assigned that number, or whatever. Note, too, that some companies sell outgoing lines separately from incoming lines.

got the same call i didn't answer and they left no message....i called it back and got someones answering machine.....also it is a florida number and looked the name up on facebook and found her there ....odd im guessing thats where she got my #
