In February we were contacted also by GMAC to rent our timeshare. The saleswoman was a good one I have to say. With her soft spoken southern accent, she urged us to act quickly because they were going to list our timeshare in the upcoming "showcase" on the upcoming weekend. We paid the fee of $1,000.00 in February and now we are in the month of August and nothing has happened and we are out $1,000.00. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and I intend on filing a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General, thanks to you. They claim I signed the contract and I had the opportunity to cancel within 7 days if I wanted to. Meanwhile they claim the program is designed to produce results within 90 days. They are good! They must be stopped in their tracks because this is just so wrong.
Caller left message regarding "General Motors vacation package" and said that it was urgent that I return the call to: 888-805-4622. On my caller ID it shows the call from 407-992-8834.
Reverse lookup shows this number as being in Orlando Florida.
I got a call from this # a few days ago. They offered to sell my timeshare for a real-high # but wanted to a high up-front fee. They identified themselves as GMAC timeshare division. Sounded like a scam to me.

Received call from this number and caller "hung up" or we were otherwise disconnected. But I recognized the voice as the gal from GMAC Timeshare Division. I talked to her before and it's the next thing to a scam. They tell you they will rent your timeshare for you and/or sell it for you. They are in a hurry because "It is alomst convention season in Orlando and the timeshares are HOT". They say that you get the money from the rental or sale, all they need is $599 up front to market your property.
Well, in fact that's all they do. They make the availability of your property known to the public and to other timeshare sellers and if they get any prospects they forward the info to you and then you have to deal with the prospective renter/purchaser or his agent. (I have this in B&W on their contract). The contract specifically says they do not rent or sell your timeshare. BEWARE.
