Silence only when picked up. This usually occurs when a robo-dialer gets someone to answer the call but noone is available at that moment to take the call (busy on another call, not near the phone etc.).
Since no 7 digit phone number can begin with the digit "1" this caller ID has been spoofed, possibly by more than one robo-dialer operated by the same individual/group. Spoofing caller ID is illegal. Do not do business with this caller.
Scammer calling. No one there. I just answer with the speaker phone and say nothing and see what they do. Sometimes the robo calls start talking but 95% of them hang up.
My blocked call list is at 200 calls in one year. What happened out there? Years went by and I had no calls like this.
Now I get them every day at least once.

This # called me, samo samo; saw the # was spoofed and CID was "Name Unavailabl" so I didn't answer, and got the usual no message left response. Calling the # back yielded further confirmation of Chuck's comment that the # is spoofed to an incorrect format-you get the phone company's 3 tones & recording that "the # you have dialed is not valid, please check the # and try again..."
Just got a call too. However, the called ID says "South San Francisco Bay Area" with a 408 (sillicon valley) area code. Just with that ID given, I knew it was a telemarketer and declined the call. I'm starting to look at what the called ID actually says. I have an iPhone.
