I have had this phone call before and asked them to stop calling me and told them
my number was on the do-not-call list. They still keep calling.
The "local family business" premise is a particularly annoying and threadbare cover for illegal sales calls. They rely on the same kind of predictive dialing and cheap labor as the credit reprice scammers, alarm system hawkers, et al. They're also just as irritated when people ask smart questions. One key difference is that the gypsy contractors might be easier to find and sue with some digging.
Got a call from them. When I answered it asked for my name and when I asked him who is this, he told me Matthews and I asked him what number he is calling from? I did not get any replies and I hung up. Redialing this number gives me a recording that "this number no longer exists"S
They called me several times for last few days. I finally answered the call. He asked if I have home project. I asked not to call. He was so rude and said he could keep calling me. Hung up and reported to FCC(http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls)
This caller has been very persistent in calling me. Today I answered the call and it's this lady whose giving her gospel about their superior construction company, blah, blah, blah. She them claimed that my neighbor was rendering their service in a bathroom remodel. I asked the caller who the neighbor was getting their bathrooms remodeled. All she'd say was, "one of your neighbors." I then informed this crack addict junkie that the subdivision that I live in is only a year old! Why would my neighbor need a major bathroom renovation in a year old home? She starts getting hot around the collar and getting pissy with me for calling her a liar! I said, "you hit the nail on the head you crazy b i t c h!" Then all I could hear was some light din in the background and I could not clear my line! After several minutes my line finally cleared! I'm sure that this crack queen will call me again tomorrow. I'll be ready of course<:)
