They called, our got answering machine, because we screen all our calls from numbers that have no ID or aren't known to us. A guy had called from the same number on 5 August (see above). Didn't have an accent. Told him then we were calling the police when he said he was on our street doing work and wanted to send one of his guys over "right away" to give us an estimate. No one was working on our street. Further, the police didn't find anyone anywhere in the surrounding area "working on the street." Police said it had to be a large criminal network for the guy to promise to send someone right over. No telling how many people are involved. Police said they come to your house, rob you OR case it to rob it for a time you aren't home. They usually put someone on the street to watch your coming and going to learn your schedule if they don't from the interview when they come to your house to give you an estimate. EXYREME DANGER!!!!! We are to answer the phone call next time, make the "right away appointment" and then call 911 so the police can be waiting for his friends to show up--and arrest them. There have been several break ins in our neighborhood they feel are linked to this crime organization.
Caller stated that they were a family owned, local business calling to see if we had any projects we would like to have done, then ran a list of projects. Only thing is, I heard several voices in the background all talking with the same pleading tone.
