This is a known spammer by the name of Ryan Lenahan who's been busted for SMS spam by the FTC. He's now spamming using an autodialer to his stolen data/customer list.
So what gives with this site - do you do anything legal or contact these jerks to actually get them to stop? If not, how do I BLOCK their number and who do I contact to get some real action? I am not big on just complaining - this is illegal and they need to STOP!
I work from home some days, and I've gotten these calls. They seem to have escalated in variety and frequency in the last several month. Sometimes more than once in a day, and multiple times a week. I get them from 408-264-2646 / 2547 / 2442, but I've also received calls form other numbers, though the above one is most frequent. Lately, they've been hang-up calls; even if I pick up on the first ring, no one answers. If this happens, can this be considered harassment of some sort? Has anyone taken legal action and have it actually work?
Spoofed number that has tried to call a landline at our office for a couple of weeks now, sometimes more than once a day.
If the answering machine picks up, they leave no message.
If you answer, a person (who does not identify themself) asks "Is this Mr. / Mrs." [last name of person the phone you answered is registered in], if you say "No" or offer to take a message, they immediately hang up. When you try to call back, the phone company message says "this number has been disconnected or is not in service". Caller ID claims the name of the caller is "Beveridge, Drew", but that's probably fake.
Last time they called, one of us answered: "We know you are a scammer. Stop calling." and hung up. It remains to be seen whether they will call again.
