I was called by 408-337-3500 on Sunday 8/17/2015 claiming I owed the Library $57 for 2 overdue books; 50 shades of grey and are you there god it's me margaret). The female scammer on the other end made a failed attempt at sounding intelligent and sophisticated - but that all she can do is try. I have no library card because i do all my reading on my nook. I asked for my name and she was rude and talked over me too and she also told me that I didn't sound like I ever read a book after I started to demand my name and address. and she hung up on me. really annoying.
I received a call from 408-337-3500. The guy said I left my number on his windshield. He said I bashed in his window, and tail light. He was loud, rude, and called me a B. He said give me your insurance info. I hung up on him.
408-337-3500 Library overdue book scam. $57 for 2 books checked out with overdue fines. This scammer had the audacity to call on Sunday when the library is closed due to budget cuts. SHE was rude and talked over me and said I didn't sound like I ever read a book after I called her on it. I just laugh and let it go to silence... waiting for her next bogus move and she hung up on me. This idiot was sooo stupid thinking this scam would work on me.
