Got a call from 408-342-6772, but what was weird was the caller ID was V20814370500054. What the heck is that? If it's not a legit business name, I don't pick up.
This number has called three mornings in a row. I don't answer and look up number here. This is the third call so decided to report. No messages are left.
Received a call from Expo Design Services, offering free services on my street. He was polite and knew what street I lived on, though I did not confirm or deny. I told him I wasn't a home owner and he hung up. Most likely a scam.
Caller didn't leave a message on my machine and the caller id said "Out of Area" which probably means telemarketer/scammer since every legitimate caller I know leaves a message. So I ran 3 reverse traces using 3 different types of traces and all were blocked for a person or business name and the only information was a general location of San Jose, California using 2 service providers of AT&T California and Pacific Bell. This is definitely a scammer that is either spoofing numbers and/or using a Voip system while phishing for personal information and running some scam ( i.e. Solar Energy, Green Solutions, Energy Bill Reduction, Expo Design Services, Home Improvement Contractor etc. ). A legitimate business would never hide their identity and location from the public by blocking a trace. DON'T ANSWER AND DO NOT CALL BACK FOR ANY REASON. Block and report to the proper authorities. Phone companies should be held responsible for these types of calls since they are making money from them by providing the systems and services that these scammers use and possibly farming out numbers too.
I got a call from this scammer last week on my landline and now today on my cell. How the hell are they getting my private numbers is what I would like to know!
