Caller said she was with DirecTV and her name was Trisha; was checking to see if we were still satisfied with it; we've only had it a few weeks. Then she talked of a $300 rebate from DirecTV for either gas or groceries (our pick) so got my email address to send the rebate info. Then she discussed a service program costing some $69 to cover a period of 18 months or two years (can't remember right now) which would cover any problems with DirecTV, cost of repair, etc. I was to receive a couple of emails with rebate info, and when none were received, I got suspious and checked some numbers.

The caller said her name was Shana. Told her I was satisfied, with the service and offered me a $71 program called Smart Plan which apparently protects your equipment forever... The company name was Advanced Communications and she said they were an affiliate of DirectTV. I called direct TV and they said they know nothing about them, but had a similar plan for 5.99 a month. Notified the CC company to cancel the transaction and give me a new card. She gave me a call back number of 866-581-9587 ext 56. Check it out see if she's there.
