They called my job saying that I was going to be sued and to get an attorney. When I asked what was the problem all they continue to say was to get an attorney so I hung up and called them again and told them that. I was going to sue them
I just got the same call! They called my house phone at 5;21 a.m. this morning, I was sleeping and hung up on them. They then called back and left a message at 9:00 a.m. and then called my work number. Karen Allen, very hard to understand, spoke little english put a "co-worker" on the phone and told me I would be served papers tomarrow. I was to report to court on Monday, I was being sued for a payday loan I took out last Septmeber. After calling my bank, (my account has been closed) they provided me with information on my deposits..all of which have been paid off. The co-worker said they had been contacting my e-mail letting me know I was being charged criminally for not paying back a payday loan. He verified my address and my references which is freaky. I'm callig the Attorney Generals office. Anyone with further info?
This is amazing..I've been on the phone w/these folks from 1:00-6PM TODAY same story..they used the same date, 9/8/08, I even got copies of my bank stmt & offered to (cross out the bk acct# except the last 2 digits) & fax to them, they wouldnt let me but now I have to change my bank acct b/c they have my bk acct#, drivers lic#, ss#, everything, I did a payday loan but last one was in 2005. They also told me to be in court Monday with my 2 references. If they call me it shows unavailable. Shane Lee is the person I spoke too, although I think they are using American names. The ph# is in California, we googled the number but I think it routes to India or something. He said he was an attorney but refused to give me his CA atty lic# or address. He said the 'client' who come to find out is 'his' parent company is paying $5480 to take me to court is willing to accept $865.30 but ooops I can only pay him, not the original company. I told him I was not paying for anything I didn't owe. He told me to get bail ready. I told him I was reporting him to the US Attorney General, I tried but they linked me to the Federal Trade Comm and I filed a complaint there. He made threats on the phone but what he didnt know was he was on speaker with witnesses. The parent co I am told is FEDERAL LEGISLATION OF UNSECURED LOANS. This has to be a scam.
I guess they're on a roll today because I just got the same phone call from Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans. It was really spooky because he also had my bank account, driver's license, social security and home address information. What made me really suspicious is that one, he called me on my cell phone and not my work number and two, when I asked for his bar association number he wouldn't give it to me. He also said that his "legal team" would be at job on monday with the paperwork and termination papers. Now how they have papers to make my job terminate me for a "supposedly" payday loan that I have no paperwork or proof at my bank that I received back in June of 2008? I'm glad I checked this site before stupidly sending them any money that I really can't afford to give them.
